Alumni Support Makes New Swimming Scoreboard A Reality
9.4.09 -- A university is only as strong as its students and alumni, and in the case of the Cleveland State University swimming and diving team, that strength has been manifested through the ongoing Robert F. Busbey Natatorium Champions Campaign. In just under a year, over $120,000 has been raised through private gifts, allowing the completion of phase one--the purchase of a brand new scoreboard that will provide the ability to do video replay, put pictures of swimmers on the screen, as well as promote future events in the aquatics area. more...

Alum, Student Featured on CBS Evening News in 'Noble Voyage'
8.20.09 -- CSU alumnus Tom Kotula and engineering student Jon Hauserman used their mechanical engineering knowledge to convert a small sailboat to a solar powered row boat, and are well on their way to completing a 2,000 mile journey from Cleveland to the Florida Keys that the began on June 7. Along the way they have been stopping to do work for Habitat for Humanity. As they rowed through New York City on the Hudson River, their story caught the attention of the producers of CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Click here to see their inspiring story.

CSU Professor's Scientific Study Takes Flight with NASA
8.14.09 -- For the last eight years, NASA has seen a significant reduction in federal funding for conducting scientific experiments in outer space. But tentatively on August 24, the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery will take six experiments to the International Space Station Freedom's U.S. Laboratory Module Destiny for low gravity experiments to be conducted by astronauts aboard, and CSU engineering professor Surendra Tewari is at the forefront of the U.S. scientific experimentation. more...
