David Sylvan, SVP, Head of Derivatives and Public Finance, KeybankMr. Sylvan joined Keybank and McDonald Investments in 1998, following eight years with the International Management Group, a Keybank client. His responsibilities at IMG included new acquisition due-diligence and negotiation, FX and interest rate hedging, as well as day-to-day oversight of their borrowing and cash management needs. His current role focuses on managing a team of Derivatives and Public Finance professionals, as they provide hedging, bond structuring and issuance consultation to a variety of clients across all industry lines. This team is also responsible for trade execution and position monitoring. Mr. Sylvan's Derivatives group is responsible for executing in excess of two thousand trades annually, representing a book of more than $90 billion in notional. The Public Finance group features underwriting capabilities in excess of $1billion and a transaction team with over 65 years in combined relevant bond experience. Mr. Sylvan earned a Bachelor's and Graduate degree (South Africa) in Commerce and Business Law, a M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University (Weatherhead), and holds a Series 7 General Securities License. |

Chenchu Bathala, Ph.D., CFA, Professor of FinanceChenchu Bathala, professor of finance and chartered financial analyst, teaches corporate finance and investments. He is also the course instructor for the Student Managed Investment Fund at CSU. He conducts research in agency theory, ownership structure, small firm finance, institutional investing, and emerging markets. Dr. Bathala has publications in Financial Management, Journal of Financial Research, Financial Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Managerial & Decision Economics, Research in Finance, Journal of Investing, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance & Business Ventures.
