March, 2010: The School of Communication will host Lets Make Movies: A Series of Interactive Panel Discussions on Filmmaking with the Cleveland International Film Festival, March 27 and 28.

April, 2009: Cleveland State Advertising Association places fourth in the 2009 Student Advertising Competition, organized by the American Advertising Federation.

February, 2009: Picture Start: A Series of Interactive Discussions With CIFF Filmmakers on the Art, Craft, and Business of Filmmaking, sponsored by Cleveland State University's School of Communication in association with the Cleveland International Film Festival and moderated by Cleveland State University Film and Digital Media faculty and local film professionals.

November, 2008: Dwayne Bray has been around, but remembers where he got started

October, 2008: Kimberly Neuendorf quoted in The New York Times.

April, 2007: Cleveland State Advertising Association places fourth in the 2007 Student Advertising Competition, organized by the American Advertising Federation.

March, 2007: Full Court Press: A Sports-writing Seminar and Scholarship Program sponsored by the U. S. Basketball Writers Association was held for the first time at the NCAA Women's Final Four. Full Court Press has been held for the past five years at the NCAA Men's Final Four

March, 2007: The Journalism and Promotional Communication division of the School of Communication presented a lecture by Douglas C. Clifton, editor of The Plain Dealer titled "News Reporting in this Changing Media Environment". The event was co-sponsored by the CSU student chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) & Cleveland State Advertising Association (CSAA).

February, 2007: An article co-authored by School of Communication professor Dr. Cheryl Camanella Bracken is one of the top most read articles in the journal Human Communication Research.

August, 2006: Cleveland State professor honored for unprecedented third time by Mensa foundation for research on gifted children.Robert Abelman, Ph.D., professor of communication at Cleveland State University, has been honored by the Mensa Education and Research Foundation with a 2005-2006 Award for Excellence in Research.

April 3, 2006: "News Is What I Say It Is", by columnist Dick Feagler, presented by the Society of Professional Journalists Student Chapter and the School of Communication

December 30, 2005: The first School of Communication students graduate with our new majors.

July 25, 2005: Three new majors approved for School of Communication.

May 2, 2005: Inaugural Gala celebrates formation of School of Communication and three new majors.

March 31, 2005: School of Communication ranked eighth in the nation in research productivity
