If you receive all non-passing grades for all of your courses in a given semester, you are considered to be in “Unofficial Withdrawal” status. It is recommended that you meet with a Specialist in All-in-1 to discuss the financial aid ramifications due to your Unofficial Withdrawal status.
Non-Passing grades at Cleveland State University include grades of F, I, W, and X.

The petition and documentation is needed to show proof that you attended class beyond 60% of the term. This documentation includes:
If you cannot prove with documentation that you attended class beyond 60% of the semester, a Title IV return is performed on your financial aid, and you could owe Cleveland State University money on your student account.
Once a Title IV return on your financial aid is performed, the return is irrevocable, and we cannot retrieve the aid.
If a student does not provide documentation to support attendance through at least 60% of the period, a Title IV return will be performed using the midpoint of the period as the student's last date of attendance.
