Provost Mearns and I are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sajit Zachariah as the new Dean of the College of Education and Human Services.

Dr. Zachariah, who is presently an associate dean at the University of Akron, is an experienced academic and effective administrator. He has a proven record of building partnerships with K-12 institutions, which will immediately benefit our new Campus International School and our broader institutional vision to support and serve the evolving educational needs of our region.

Dr. Zachariah is a passionate leader, and we are confident that he will inspire his colleagues and our students to new heights. We are grateful that he will bring his vision and considerable experience to Cleveland State.

I am also grateful to Dr. Richard Hurwitz, who has served as the Interim Dean of the college since July. Dick has selflessly supported the college and the University for many years and will return to teaching.
