National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)Sororities

ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA: Founded in 1908 at Howard University, AKA’s motto is “by culture and by merit” and their purposes are to cultivate and encourage high scholastic achievement and ethical standards and to promote unity and sisterhood among collegiate women. DELTA SIGMA THETA: Founded at Howard in 1913 and at CSU in 1971, Delta Sigma Theta’s motto is “intelligence is the torch of wisdom.” Their purpose is to utilize the collective strength of college women to promote academic excellence, community service, and cultural enrichment. Distinguished DELTA’s include Shirley Chisholm, Nancy Wilson, Ruby Dee, and Nikki Giovanni. www.deltasigmatheta.org

SIGMA GAMMA RHO: The Sigmas were founded in 1922 at Butler University with the motto “greater service, greater progress.” The royal blue and gold work to encourage and promote high scholastic attainment, community service, and improvement of the quality of life and the society in which we live. THETA PHI ALPHA: The Theta’s were founded in 1912 at the University of Michigan to provide close comradeship, advance educational, social and philanthropic interests and leadership training adhering to highest moral standards. Local and Special Interest Sororities

CHI DELTA EPSILON: Founded as a local sorority in 2002, Chi Delta Epsilon is aimed at giving college women the opportunity to experience an harmonious relationship between social development and academic achievement. CHI LAMBDA OMEGA: The Purpose of the organization shall be to service the community while promoting the values of leadership, loyalty, compassion and sisterhood amongst women who aspire to better themselves academically and socially.

DELTA OMEGA PHI:The purpose of the organization shall be to provide an enlightening and enjoyable experience that combines friendship and unity and integrates the development of values with intellectual and social growth.

GAMMA PHI DELTA: This service sorority started at CSU in 2002, and was founded in 1943 at Lewis College of Business to improve the economic, social and political status of all women, encourage education and value in humanity, and service to the community. www.gammaphideltasorority.com

NU ALPHA PSI: The purpose of the organization shall be to provide fellowship and activities which focus on the special social and academic interests and needs of the mature, non-traditional female student (including, but not limited to, part-time female students with families).

UPSILON DELTA MU MULTICULTURAL SORORITY: Founded in 2010 as the first multicultural Greek-letter organization on campus, we have dedicated ourselves to the promotion of diversity awareness through supporting multicultural programming, as well as to the empowerment of women, community service, the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom through lifetime learning, and the advancement of the values of unity, individuality, personal integrity and sisterhood.
